Crawling 5-6months, walking (holding onto something) 8months and walking by himself 10months :) He has been slower with talking though! First "mama" said at 10months. Since then hes been talking in his own single words and now has just started putting two word sentences together and he is already 2years old! But ge is bilingual if that makes any difference :) What about your LO OP?

HollyBen · 28/07/2019 11:15

DD - crawling 10 months, walking 14 months, born talking, hasn't stopped since!! I distinctly recall just before she was 2 having a day where I undersodd everythibg she said

DS - crawling 7 months, walking 12 months, speaking took much longer than DD. By around 3.5 he was using 3 word sentences. Even now at 4.5 it can be difficult to work out the odd word

Pineapplefish · 28/07/2019 11:16

I have three DC. They were all early walkers but talking varied a lot more.

Crawling - between 6 and 8 months
Walking - between 10.5 and 12 months
Talking - by 18m, DC1 could say lots of words (>50), DC2 could say some (around 20) and DC3 didn't really talk at all (he's fine now!).

Crawling 6 months, walking 10 months.
He's 18months now and not talking yet.

Youvegotafriendinme · 28/07/2019 11:17

Crawling 7 months.
Walking holding on to our hand 8.5 months. Waking by himself 11months
First word at 7.5 months and hasn’t stopped since! Grin

userabcname · 28/07/2019 11:18

11 months crawling, 13 months walking, he said quite a few words at 18 months but it's really ramped up since he turned 2 and he says a lot more now.

PivotPivotPivottt · 28/07/2019 11:18

Eldest never crawled, walked at10 months, can't remember when she started talking Blush. Definitely earlier than my youngest though

Youngest crawled at 9 months, walked at 14 months and now at 26 months only has a handful of words.

MustardScreams · 28/07/2019 11:19

According to the notes on my phone dd crawled at 6 months.

She didn’t walk till she was 18 months!! That was a stressful time. Honestly didn’t think she was ever going to and then one day just stood up and walked like she’d been doing it for years.

First word (mama) at 8 months. Talking really kicked off at 16 months and she’s 2.6 now and says sentences and you can have a proper, simple conversation with her. Like what do you want for breakfast? I want toast and strawberries please mummy. Ok, are you hungry now? Not yet, in a minute. Etc etc.

RaiderGirl94 · 28/07/2019 11:24

My LO is only 3 months but it varies a lot. I’m just wondering when to expect it x

DS1
Sitting up 5-6 months
Crawling 7-8 months.
Walking 14-15 months
Talking by 14-15 months, almost full sentences by 18 months.
DS2 was very premature so these are his milestone at his ‘corrected age’:
Sitting up 5 months
Crawling 9 months
Walking 18 months actual, 15 months corrected.
Talking in full sentences at 2.

VioletDaisies · 28/07/2019 11:30

DD1 Crawling - 8 months, walking - 12 months (unaided) talking - odd word here or there but the words really started to flow from 2. I can't remember what age she said her first word.

DD2 Crawling - 8/9 months, walking 11 months (unaided) and talking well, she is only 17 months and can say more than what DD1 could at this age including animal noises, but doesn't always use the words. She said her first word Hiya at 5 months.

riotlady · 28/07/2019 11:30

Crawling- 7 months
Walking (unaided)- 15 months
Talking- Started saying a couple of words at 1 year, is now 16 months and has only added a few

Constance1234 · 28/07/2019 11:30

Crawling 8 months, walking 15 months, talking around 2 years, but had been babbling the previous 6 or so months.

BoronationStreet · 28/07/2019 11:32

Don't do this to yourself OP! Comparison is the thief of joy.

I worried about every milestone and it was such a waste of energy and headspace. My DS crawled at 7 months then didn't walk until just after his 1st birthday. He didn't talk (he babbled but no real words) until he was 18 or 19 months old. Now he's 2.5 and speaks in complete sentences and can sing entire nursery rhymes on his own.

When I look back, I wish I hadn't put so much stock into the milestones. I worried myself sick about him walking and talking and he's perfectly fine.

They all get there in their own time and you'll do yourself no favours by worrying about it.

DramaAlpaca · 28/07/2019 11:37

DS1 crawled at 8 months, walked at 12 months, was talking in full sentences around 2 years.
DS2 crawled at 8 months, walked at 10 months, was talking in full sentences by 18 months.
DS3 crawled at 8 months, walked at 11 months, was talking in full sentences around 2, like DS1.
I can't remember when any of them said their first words.

anothernotherone · 28/07/2019 11:43

My 3 were all different, but it's an urban myth that early walkers are late talkers and vice versa. The age they walk and talk at also has absolutely no significance as a predictor of later development or ability if they're within the very wide normal range.

DD (dc1) - crawled properly at 8 months but had been commando crawling (squirming about on her tummy and rolling about) from only just 5 months.

Walked at 9 months

Talked in 2-3 word sentences at 13 months and was pretty "fluent" sounding, using fairly grammatically accurate sentences with a very large vocabulary in two languages (because we moved abroad) by 24 months.

She's 14 now and a bit above average at most things, she's got an undeniable talent with language but isn't a genius despite very precocious early language skills, and is fairly sporty but only in a sport as a hobby way, early walking was no indication of future sporting prowess.

Ds1 (dc2) crawled at 8 months,

walked at 12 months,

first linked noun + verb to make simple sentences at 18 months and was chatting in more fluent sentences by about 2.5

He's the most obviously sporty of my children now; the only one who wins every race at sports day, is picked first for every team, rival (hobby, just for fun) football teams have tried to persuade him/ me to relocate to their team etc.

DS2 (dc3) crawled at 7 months

Didn't walk til 14 months

Climbed everything from 10 months though - slides, trees, bookshelves, bunk beds, vertical surfaces without obvious footholds ... GrinShock

Language development similar to ds1 although his second language was ironically slower despite being born in our adopted country because his older siblings insisted on translating for him!

The range of normal is wide and easily googled.

QuickGetTheEggplants · 28/07/2019 11:53

For DD
Crawling at 8 months
Walking at 16 months
First word at 9 months
Combining words at 15 months
Full sentences at 21 months

DS is only 14 months but so far
Crawled at 11 months
Not interested in walking
First word at 9 months, he has about 12 words now.

Very weird to have a talking non-mobile baby, or have a mini conversation with a crawler.

yikesanotherbooboo · 28/07/2019 11:55

3 DC
Crawling 6 -11 months
Walking 12-17 months
Talking ; odd words 10-18 months
Short sentences 15-24 months
Different DC did things first at different times and none of the above has had any bearing on their aptitudes later on.

MeadowHay · 28/07/2019 11:57

DD is 13 months. She has never crawled. She is a bun shuffler. She is not going to be walking anytime soon as she has only really been cruising for a couple of weeks and she is very wobbly and lacks confidence. She says no proper words yet although she says two 'words' but they're not really words from the dictionary, if that makes sense, so dunno if they count. Along the lines of "aaaargh" like they are phrases/inflections that are used correctly in context but not words as such

SmartPlay · 28/07/2019 13:45

Daughter:
Rolling over - ~4 months
Crawling - never, she was a bum shuffeler (probably because I made the mistake of sitting her up) from 9 months
Pulling herself up and walking along things - 10 months
Walking - 13 months
Talking "proper words" (not just Mama) - 16 months
Combining 2 words - shortly before her 2nd birthday, so ~23 months

Son:
Rolling over - 7 months
Crawling - 8 months (on the belly)/shortly before 10 months (on all fours)
Pulling himself up and walking along things - 10 months
Walking - 13 months
Talking "proper words" (not just Mama) - 17 months
Combining 2 words - he'll be 2 soon and occasionally does it since June (so 22 months), but I don't count it yet

Camomila · 28/07/2019 16:47

Crawling: 7m
Walking: 15m (long skinny legs!)
Talking: First word at 9.5m, could say about 5 by 1st birthday.

LauraMJ · 28/07/2019 16:52

6/9/2

FuzzyPenguin · 28/07/2019 16:58

Crawling - 18 months
Walking - 22 months
Talking - 9 months

He seems to prove the theory that your child is either a walker or talker

Shelbybear · 28/07/2019 17:22

My little girl didn't look like she would crawl she bum shuffled for a while but didn't go far. She did finally start crawling at 10 months.

Properly walking was about 15 months. She cld pull herself up to stand at 8/9 months. Took first steps about 13 months but wasn't interested in walking for a while.

Talking, I feel like she's always talked 😂 she was always a noisy girl babbling away to herself constantly. Said first word at 6 months by 12 months cld say quite a few words. By 15 months was singing twinkle twinkle completely and in the correct tune (some of the words weren't so clear). Then started putting more words together and by 20 months was doing proper sentences. She's not long turned 2 and her speech is amazing. You can have proper conversations with her. Nursery have told us her speech is much more advanced than the kids in the room up from her.

Mammyloveswine · 28/07/2019 22:58

Ds1...crawled at 11 months, walked at 13 months, didn't talk until 3. Is still a bit behind at 3.5 but has come on so much!

DS2..crawled at 9 months, walked at 16 months (lazy kippper!) but has about 30 words at 18 months and is starting to put them together.
