13 month old speech.. should I be worried?

My gorgeous 13 month old son is babbling, saying things such as such as 'mamamama' or 'babababa' or 'yayaya' 'gagagaga' and he says 'agiya' (we have no idea what he's trying to say, he says it randomly and doesn't seem to have any association with anything). I know you shouldn't compare to other children and I know they all develop at their own pace but I feel like he should be saying some words by now with meaning? Like when he says 'mamam' he doesn't associate it with me. He's fantastic at copying gestures and following instructions such as clapping or pointing to his knees, showing his tongue or if you ask him to pass him you something, like the remote, he will. Do you think there's a potential problem with a speech delay or should I just be patient and stop panicking?

My 18 month old won’t point, won’t copy gestures, doesn’t respond to his name or words or questions.

Relax, she’s completely average at the moment.

No need to worry at all. Perfectly normal for a 13 month old.

This is far far far too early to even be thinking about this! X

I think we had about 2 words at 12 months, but lots of babbling and pointing. At 18 months we're getting two word sentences and honestly every day he seems to come up with a new word (not always intelligible, but it's there!). www.talkingpoint.org.uk has a development checker that will probably reassure you.

Your child is just over a year old. Why are you worrying about this? My child didn't speak until he was two, and within a week of saying individual words he was speaking in sentences and reciting full nursery rhymes. They speak when they're ready.
