Beat natural baby wash for cradle cap

My baby has a bit of cradle cap and I've been advised by my GP to only use natural/organic products rather than the Johnston's baby wash I had been using. Can anyone recommend one that has worked for them? Thank you x

It is not fungal at all. It's an over production of sebum/oils. We used coconut oil and a soft bristle brush after letting the coconut oil soak in, then followed by a gentle shampoo to remove the oil. Cleared in a couple of weeks.

Coconut oil here too. Massage a load in, leave overnight (baby can sleep on a towel) brush out with a soft baby brush. Sorted in one go and hugely satisfying to boot.

Olive oil and a comb here too.

If you are breastfeeding then breast milk is good for it. Cleared DSs in a few weeks.

A quick google indicates that doctors cannot conclude what causes it and it may be fungal or it may be overactive sebaceous glands. I love how everything on mn becomes some aggressive battle to be right.

Only thing that cleared my first 2 dc up was time. That said, dc3 has been covered in coconut oil head to toe after each was since she was born and has only developed very minimal cradle cap, so make of that what you will.

I'm a hairdresser and cradle cap can indeed be fungal, and sometimes not. It's a type of seborrheic dermatitis. Coconut oil works sometimes as it is naturally mildly antifungal, if it's really bad you may need to get a medicated shampoo to clear it up or it can start to get infected (really severe cases!). Normally softening the scales with oil, using a brush and a mild shampoo will clear it up. Some kids are always prone to it, my little boy still gets a touch on his scalp and he's nearly 3.

I picked it off Blush
