My ds woke up normal time this morning but wasn't quite as full on as normal and fell asleep on the lounge floor at 9am! I put him in his cot and then had to wake him at 10am to run errands. He's been dozing/sleeping pretty much all day, in his pram or cot. He seemed a bit warm but isn't running a temperature. I think he's a little dehydrated as his nappies aren't very wet, and he's not eaten much today. Any advice? I have him some neurofen earlier just in case, it not really sure what it could be. He's usually non stop!

Is he unhappy when he is awake? I assume you’ve checked him all over for rash etc?

If there absolutely no other symptoms at all, I’d be tempted to say minor ear infection. Keep him hydrated if at all posible, if he won’t drink enough then stick him in the bath for a bit. Not eating is not an issue, but not drinking is. Will he suck an ice lollly?

That is odd. Grogginess and excessive sleepiness can be a worrying thing.

I’m normally pretty relaxed, but I’d be considering seeing a doctor.

Thanks. He woke up just before 5 and has scoffed a load of pasta! Seems a lot better, a bit grumpy but a lot more energy. No rash etc, it was like he had a fever without any of the symptoms! Now to see if he'll sleep tonight 😬

Do keep an eye on temperature and keep checking for rash. Otherwise I’d just say calpol and cuddles, it’ll be some minor infection that hopefully he’ll be over in no time
