He woke up at 4.30, and I don't think he slept after that point. He stayed in bed until 6.30, at which point I admitted defeat and got up (normally he sleeps through until 7am).

Ever since he has got up he has been whinging and grizzling, and I have no idea why. He's not dribbling or poking his mouth so I think teething can be ruled out. He doesn't want me to touch him (pushes me away if I come near), and has the most awful tantrums if I attempt to change his nappy, feed him, offer him toys etc. He doesn't seem unwell just very bad-tempered.

I had lots of phonecalls to make this afternoon and he wouldn't let me - tried to grab the phone from me, or screams so loudly that there really is no point trying to phone anyone. I ended up cutting the grass so that the noise of the lawnmower would block out his noise.

I don't feel at all cut out for this mothering business today. I'm 12 weeks pg with number 2, feeling exhausted and ridiculously hormonal, and am thinking that if one little 15 month old is getting the better of me, how the hell am I going to cope with 2.

Snap MM!

I always try to remember that every time he has gone through a difficult stage, it has passed pretty quickly.

NOTHING lasts very long at this age, just remember that however bad you feel, we're all the same. No one has endless reserves of patience.

You're normal for finding it tough at times, just as he's normal for being a pain in the butt at times!

You are just having a bad day with him. Dont you ever want to just be left alone, children are no diferent. The only difference is that we can explain how we feel but they cant. It is really frustrating for us parents though and I have been there. My dd was 16 months when I got pg with no 2 and I felt like that on more than one occasion. Tomorrow is another day!!!!

I'm just praying dh doesn't have to work tomorrow so that I can escape for a couple of hours.
