Help. 9 month old eats well, but shouts while being spoon fed

I'm actually sitting here with in-ear headphones in while feeding her as she's giving me a huge headache. She eats very well but when being spoon fed, 90% of the time she shouts her way through the meal - she's quiet when taking a spoon then just yells. She's quieter when self feeding but I'm nervous with finger foods so she needs purées too. I know she likes the food as she cleans the bowl but desperately seeking advice on why this may be happening!

Research baby led weaning. There'll be loads of advice on safe solids for your dd.

My dd is very independent and refuses to be fed so meal times are quite messy. She's nearly 17 months now and still tries to shove whole foods in her mouth instead of biting. 🙈

Get the baby led weaning book rather than the Annabel Karmel one. It gives you loads more confidence about how they're actually fine and explains how to prepare various foods etc. You do not need special "finger foods for babies", you can just give her normal food.

I loved baby led weaning with my first but my second is the opposite and complained unless you spooned it in for ages Hmm He is now 10 months and is a pro at self feeding, still doesn't really chew, but he's fine. My friend was feeding him whole strawberries the other day not realising he would literally just swallow them down whole Confused Anyway he was fine and didn't seem to do himself any damage by ingesting gravel and sand from the play area either.
