As per the title. We already have (and love) books such as Peepo and We’re going on a Bear Hunt, and “Dear Zoo” and various Julia Donaldson ones. Please share with me your favourite books to read with a 1 year old.

Thanks

Goodnight moon. I had to read that book every night from age 1 to about 4. Every night. Still know it off by heart.

That's not my...series were great.

I also started reading Roland Dahl at that stage - skipping through certain bits. They didn't have a clue what was going on but it was more about cuddles and listening at bed time. Saved my sanity a few times when they refused to sleep!

Hairy Mclairy/Slinky Malinki/Schnitzel Von Krumm/Scarface Claw books are very popular here, and other Lynley Dodd books (The Dudgeon is Coming, My Cat Likes to Hide in Boxes)
Meg and Mog
Tiger Who Came to Tea
Where the Wild Things Are
Books by Chris Haughton (Ssh We Have a Plan, A Little Bit Lost, Goodnight Everyone)
Various my first word books and ABCs

My DS absolutely loves books, we have all the Julia Donaldson ones and Dear Zoo, bear hunt etc.

We're in Australia so books like The Very Cranky Bear is a favourite (there are a few in the series I think), Possum Magic, Baby Wombat's Week, where is green sheep etc. he also likes anything with flaps to lift like the Spot books
