Today's been quite warm as you know so the house has been too, had heating on a few hours ago but not in the day and turned it off after , I myself am happy sleeping with just a vest on, and wouldn't need the duvet but will my baby be the same? She has one long sleeve pj top on and long bottoms with fluffy socks on, I have a 1.5 tog she could use but think even tthen she might be too warm? I've felt her she is just warm , not hot, more on the warm cool side (apologies for talking like a absolute idiot) can anything happen if she gets too cold?? Will she let me know? Our heating is off but the house is still warm

Take the socks off and leave her be

They do wake when cold

AlunWynsKnee · 25/06/2019 00:32

It really won't be cold enough to be a problem tonight. She'll be fine.

tanfastic111 · 25/06/2019 00:50

I've taken her socks off, what will that do?

Put a thin blanket or sheet over her or a cardie on if you're worried. She won't be hot enough to overheat but will let you know if she's cold

GlamGiraffe · 25/06/2019 01:02

Take the socks off.doesnt need them in this weather.. how old is baby?

Unless she's only a couple of months the 2.5 you is ok but I prefer a sheet and cellular blanket or 2 when it's cold. They wake if they're cold but can't if they're too hot. So it depends on age. How old?
Babies aren't supposed to have duvets or plies until at least 2 years of age. Many still don't like a pillow long after that!

She's 1 ☺️ I've taken the socks off she feels a nice temperature and is happily sleeping. I worry about using blankets incase she pulls it over her face

At 1, blankets are fine! She will definitely wake if cold!

GlamGiraffe · 25/06/2019 02:23

Tuck them ccellular cot blakrt and a flat sheet right under bottom of the mattresses so they end below shoulder height.tuck all edges firmly under. No pillows and no cushions or fiddly toys except may be one gave to be s comfortor. These ate some of the steps recognised to help reduce cot death.also If anyone in the house- even outside, smokes. It puts a risk.thet shouldsr rop udeally

My 1yo was in a short sleeve vest and 1.5 tog sleeping bag last night. Seemed ok. He moves cot ends a lot so i worry about blankets and he doesn't seem to like not having a sleeping bag on.

CallMeOnMyCell · 25/06/2019 07:14

My 1 year old slept in a vest with no blanket last night as her room was 25 degrees! Blankets are fine BTW.

Embracethechaos · 25/06/2019 07:19

My baby slept in vest and thin, ' swaddle blanket', not swaddled but it's thin, like holey sheet. I remember when she was newborn, this time last year and we got moved from the wars to an air con room. I fell asleep, work up, 3hours later panicking that she'd gone really cold, as she was still asleep, and skin was cold and I thought her face looked pale. Midwives checked her temperature for reassurece, she was fine. Also... you've had your heating on recentlyShock mine went off months ago.

FenellaMaxwell · 25/06/2019 07:19

If you don’t have one, get a gro egg. At 1, they are perfectly capable of letting you know if they are cold, and also of an age where if their blanket over their face was bothering them, they’d move it.

My 3 month old has gone to bed in a vest and cellular blanket. He gets really warm and grouchy.
