Essential oils & smelly wet nappies

So my DS (11 month) has started sleeping through on several occasions through week and this coupled with him having some water during the day means he has a very full wet nappy in the morning, fine he’s not sore or uncomfortable but it is very smelly!!! I use water wipes and unscented baby micellar water (I know don’t judge me it’s french and amazing) to clean him thoroughly, he’s still often a bit wiffey though! Can’t face bathing him on a morning, often not time with breakfast, milk and naps. Any suggestions?? I was thinking maybe diluting a drop of lavender oil in a bottle of spray water on cotton wool maybe?!? Or is this crazy. It really is smelly!

Cheeky wipes (reusables) suggest using lavender.

As long as its very diluted I think it'll be fine.

Might it be worth an alternative brand of nappies? Unless you're using cloth nappies I mean.

I used to run the shower over their bums. It's dead quick once you've got the hang of it.

Maybe buy a multi pack of flannels and do a morning freshen up with a damp one with a little bit of eg baby shampoo on it every morning before you put the new nappy on and get him dressed so he smells good and is clean.

Quick shower in the morning.

Or a flannel with some warm soapy water.

With respect, your fancy french stuff sounds pretty wank if it can't do the job you're using it for.

I give mine a quick wash with warm water and a flannel of a morning - he's always sticky after breakfast and it's good to wash bits and bum after a long time in one nappy overnight.

I soak some flannels in a solution of camomile tea, lavender scented baby oil and baby shampoo (all diluted) and store them in a sealed tuppaware tub. They are excellent for cleaning and freshening up in the morning and any other time of the day.
