Two DC, one just finished A levels, the other GCSEs. Ds1 doing some part time work until Sept. Ds2 no plans to work until he starts his apprenticeship in Sep.

Neither have plans to be out and about much

I can't bear the idea of them doing completely nothing all summer, so have decided this is the summer they will learn the practical skills involved in being grown ups.

They can already cook and clean and mow the grass. The front fence needs painting, I have some gravel that needs replenishing.

What else that they can be left to get on with while I'm at work? I don't want them to ruin stuff or create extra work for me!

I’ve declared this summer ‘the summer of life skills’ for my just finished GCSEs ds

So:
More cooking
More cleaning
Laundry
Ironing
Budgeting / general financial savvy
Meal planning

There will be more but can’t think right now.
