Giving cows milk to breastfed baby

Hi, I'm starting work this week and have been reducing breastfeeds for my just turned one year old. I'm wanting to give her cows milk but she'll only have 1/2oz once or twice a day. she still has a feeds from me at 8am, 630pm, 10pm and sometimes 3am. how much cows milk should she be having? I'm assuming shes only drinking a little because breastfeeds aren't actually that big volume wise. she's pretty good with her solids to btw, eats lots of cheese and atleast one yoghurt every day

I would give her as much as she wants, but don't stress about it. If she wants more when you cut down feeds, she'll take more. I don't think mine was initially having more than 1-2 oz to start. Now he can easily drink a whole cup in one go, or sometimes he won't have any at all. I think the NHS advice is 500ml a day, but this includes all dairy, so less if having cheese, yogurt, cow's milk in cereal, etc

I didn’t measure after 1, dd just had a cup with breakfast if she wanted and maybe one in the afternoon. As long as she’s eating well you don’t really have to measure or make sure she’s having milk. She can get her calcium from other dairy sources and green leafy veg.

So she would only be missing one or two feeds if you are working day time hours? You haven't said how old she is, but mine both started child care at 10 months and I didn't ask for them to be given milk feeds, just the milk they had at snack times, so a couple of oz in a sippy cup. Unlike yours they were missing approximately 822480965 feeds and coped absolutely fine, I fed them before we left the nursery and we had a bit of a catch up when we got in. I didn't notice any reverse cycling like some mothers do.

She needs 350mg of calcium a day and a multivitamin containing vitamin D.

DS didn't have any because he didn't like it. He'd have a breastfeed when he woke up, one when I got in, and one at bedtime (and in the night)

He jusy drank water and ate food in the day.

He often had cereal/porridge for breakfast and was a big fan of cheesy pasta.
