Biting & bottle refusal

I have a 7 month old son who has been exclusively breastfed. When he was 6 weeks old he took 3oz of expressed milk from a bottle, since then he has refused to take a bottle completely.

I have tried all sorts, a myriad of different bottles, I've tried numerous sippy cups now he is a bit bigger, I've tried formula at all different temperatures and times of day... he will not take anything! If he does get milk from a sippy cup he will promptly spit it out and refuse to open his mouth again...

He has just started biting, so hard he has drawn blood... I have tried giving him a cold teether before a feed if I know his teeth are causing him pain. I've tried to take him off and return when he calms down but that just makes him more angry.

I'm after any advice to wean him from the boob onto a cup or bottle, I cant take this biting for much longer (neither can my nips...!!!) And I have to go back to work in a few months...

Please... Any suggestions?!?

I was at my wits end when mine was around this age as she also totally refused a bottle. I didn’t necassarily want to give up breastfeeding but I really wanted to be able to have the option to be away from her if need be.
I tried everything as well, nothing worked.
In the end, around 10 months she started accepting a bottle of half formula/half cow’s milk (against rules but I was also still breastfeeding so I knew she was getting goodness from me) and she started loving it. I just think it was age more than anything else, she just grew up and realised how filling and yummy it was.
By the time she was 1 she was guzzling bottles of cows milk twice a day with no issues. I gave up bfeeding at 14 months with no problem.
She still loves 2 bottles a day now (again, against the rules, oops)
And so my only advice is... time. Sadly. Sorry!

Oh and for me the biting was a very short stage so hopefully the same for you....

Thanks for your reply, I think I might just have to be patient and give it all time. He is an adventurous little boy with his food and has come on so quickly with his eating... so let's hope that the nips hold out and we get through it...!!
