Horrible weather! What to do with the kids?!

Hey ladies, as I'm sure you're aware, the weather has been absolutely disgusting lately. I'm in the midlands and it's been raining here pretty much non stop for the past couple of days.

DS is 7 and DD is 3 months. What would you recommend to do on a rainy day with the kids? We've already done things like swimming, going to an indoor trampoline park and play board games at home but I need some new ideas! My 7 year old is really into his games on play station and ipad but I want to drag him away from all that as I feel like he's on it way too much!

I have a car so getting to places isn't an issue.

Thanks in advance!

There is nothing wrong with being bored!

Don't get me wrong I did entertain my kids when they were young (cinema, soft play, games at home etc) but it wasn't 24/7. I need some time to myself!

Some days we would just potter round at home, they would often play with their toys, draw etc.

Ban screens and they will find something else to do.

Also what about baking?

Go for a walk in the rain and find some really big puddles to jump in.

Cooking.
If you've got space, make an obstacle course (blanket on the floor to crawl under, pile if all the cushions on the sofa to go over, and ball pits /collapsible tunnels to go through, target to hit with a soft ball, anything else you have stuff for, and time him.
Wellies and waterproofs and out for a walk, followed by hot chocolate and a bath at home.
You tube a kids dance or exercise routine for indoors, and do that.

if you're near Melton Mowbray Twin Lakes is a really good day out, there's lots to do indoors so even when it is raining there's stuff to.do.

Cheap kids cinema showing. The 7 month old will be free. Get a seat at the front and put the little one on a play mat with some quiet toys

Well I would go to one of two garden centres. Either Planters in Tamworth which is massive and has a cafe and loads of pets for them to look at or Dobbies near Lichfield which has lots of fish, a soft play area and a cafe. Then I would buy a small pot and some cress or sunflower seeds and take them back to do some planting at home. This is my plan, but you’re welcome to share it!
