Been winding baby for two hours

So my 11 week old just had her last late night feed, she usually sleeps for about 6/7 hours after this feed ( I know - amazing for me ) but I have been trying to wind her for an over an hour. She did the tiniest of burps, it was an air burp if that makes sense? Wasn't a proper belch like she usually does 😂
I know she has a lot more wind but it won't come up.

I'm really exhausted as I didn't sleep last night because of stress and I need to catch up on some sleep so even though she didn't break all of her wind is it safe for me to just sleep? Or should I keep trying with her? I'm just so tired and my arms are dead trying to 😂 thanks!

What do you think will happen if you don't get all the wind up?

I'd just put her down to sleep now. It'll work its way out one end or the other... if there's one there.

Is she crying/upset?

I agree with PP - a bit of wind never does any harm. Maybe that little burp was all she had. Put her to bed and go to bed yourself.

I never winded mine. They always fell asleep while feeding (I slept too!) so I would just put them down.

I ended up falling asleep! I don't know what I think is going to happen I'm just nervous as heck when it comes to it and over think everything 😂 thanks for replying 😊

My DD would trump in her sleep 😂 if she ever seemed uncomfortable THEN I would wind her.
Don’t make life hard for yourself!

If it dosent come up after half hour and wee one isn't crying I'd leave her be. Might just be nothing there.

I never winded mine, it just didn’t work. 2 hrs!! Go to sleep :)

DrWho as a baby's digestive system matures and they get more efficient at feeding they won't bring up the big burps any more. Lots of parents find that babies of about 4 or 5 months don't need winding at all. Even if you "miss" a burp it'll just be that baby is a little uncomfortable, perhaps wiggling and trumping a bit more than usual. My babies have never been winded and are fine (albeit breastfed babies do tend to take in less air, but there must have been "ignored burps" occasionally!)

I understand the anxiety and am glad you managed to fall asleep.

I did this. I once stayed awake for hours trying to wind my DS, woke my husband up in tears so he could have a go, they took one look at each other and both went to sleep. I stopped being so bothered about winding at that point.

He (DS, not DH) used to struggle with farting in his sleep though so every night at about 11pm one of us would have to bicycle his legs round till he trumped enough and then he'd be happily back to sleep. Hmm

Please don’t stay up to wind. If baby is happy and settled then let them be, she would soon let you know if she was uncomfortable.
