DD is finishing pre school ready for back school next month. I would like to buy her key worker a little gift to say thank you. Is it okay to just buy the key worker a gift?

Would you buy all the staff a gift?? There’s proably about 8 staff in total and that will add up 🤨

I guess if everyone bought their key workers a gift then it would equal out anyway!

Thoughts?

We made peppermint creams and tied them up in plastic bags for everyone when kids were small. Quick, cheap and my daughter had a great time decorating after I dipped them in chocolate. Another time it was fudge. You could add something extra for your key worker. It’s always appreciated and won’t cost a lot.
My son is leaving school now and all he wants to do is give a bottle of something to his head of year. My daughter not interested in giving anyone anything! They have different teachers each year it’s not like primary when they may have same teacher for some and over a few subjects.

I’d buy the key worker a special gift and then a combined gift (something foodie) for all the staff.

Chocolates for the whole staff is always good as they can keep them in the cupboard and use them to get through meetings after school :). Then an extra gift for the key worker. I used to be a nursery teacher and that's what I appreciated!x

Box of biscuits would be appreciated no doubt

Buy a cheap terracotta plant pot from Wilkos and get DC to decorate with paint / handprints / chalk pens. Varnish with clear varnish and put a cheap houseplant in it.

@FusionChefGeoff while that might be a lovely 'cheap' gift for family, it's not great for nursery/school staff. I have dc, nieces etc of my own and never know what to do with handmade gifts from children in my class.
I've worked in early years for decades and the things I treasure are cards with lovely words in. Chocolates are always nice to share in the staff room too!

A few years ago a parent gave me a Costa voucher and a card that said 'you deserve coffee & cake, have it on us! I thought that was lovely and I really appreciated it too.
