Chicken Allergy - What shall I do?

My baby is 8 months

About two weeks he projectile vomited but I thoughts it’s either a bug or he’s allergic to something and pinpointed it to either banana, chicken or Greek yoghurt as these were the things I gave that was different but I wasn’t sure.

He hasn’t had any of those three since but I decided to give a chicken curry pouch today for dinner later and then when I gave him his milk, he drank it all and then threw it all up afterwards.

He’s well in himself and playing etc. No temperature, no diarrhoea yet etc.

He’s projectile vomited twice now since 8 o clock.

He’s not allergic to anything else that I know of. He’s fine with eggs etc.

Is he allergic? Do we need to consult the doctor etc? Shall I take him to A&E?

I think a chicken allergy is likely quite rare. I would speak to your GP, but because you gave more than just chicken, I think you probably need to do some more investigations. What else was in the pouch? Did he have any of these things on the same day as the previous vomiting, even if not in the same meal?

My dd developed a suspected allergy to pumpkin seeds. She had them on a number of occasions with no trouble. And then suddenly one time, she started projectile vomiting about 2 hours after having them. I didn't actually think it was an allergy because it was just vomiting and she hadn't eaten anything new. She had pumpkin seeds again about a month later and again started vomiting about 2 hours later, but this time her face swelled up and she was covered in red hives. I knew the pumpkin seeds were the only thing she'd had in common on both of those days.

In the end it was fine. I eliminated them until she was 1 on advice of the GP and then reintroduced them cautiously and she has never had a reaction again. It's not impossible it could be chicken, but I would also think about what else might have been in the curry (onions, celery, soya, etc.) or what he might have had in the previous few hours on both days. And also see your GP.
