Child-safe YouTube channels?

Can anyone recommend a child-safe YouTube channel for a toddler? We're not big fans of YouTube for children, but we have a long journey coming up and being pragmatic I think the iPad might be helpful in this instance. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Fizzy Fun Toys
Turbo Toy Time
HoneyHeartC

These are favourites of my 4 year old.

Use YouTube for kids, there is an actual app designed for it.

Even if you start on a safer channel a couple of presses of the screen and there's all manner of weird shit. Get iPlayer for kids or the Sky Kids app instead.

We use YouTube Kids but add specific channels like Bing, Hey Duggee etc. so no weird videos pop up. Ours like CocoMelon and Little Baby Bum for songs too. If you only add the official channels then no suggestions come up on there outside of the selected ones.

Just set up a playlist and you can avoid all the weird junk. My toddler likes (of the ones I approve of anyway)-
Super Simple Songs
Wow English TV
Boey Bear

Playcars (one word) is the channel that my toddlers love. Completely child-friendly. Have a good trip!

Toytrains4u is great.

Dave and Ava for songs.

If you get iplayer for kids you can download loads of programmes in advance to save data. I think most Ceebies programmes are better quality.

We use you tube for kids but under the parent mode you can select what channels can be watched.

MerlinsScarf · 10/06/2019 20:03

Agreed, iplayer for cbeebies shows is a great option. They're good quality and loads of variety, and you can download before you set off. Cbeebies app is good for preschoolers too, nice games without any freemium/in-app purchasing for kids who want something interactive while you're on the move.

Blippi is great!
Get youtube kids and turn of 'search mode' so that they can only see official/approved youtube channels.

Or download stuff from the cbeebies app or Amazon prime (and turn wifi off).

Thanks everyone for all the great suggestions. I tested two channels that were a hit with my toddler:

Playcars

Fizzy Fun Toys
