Sleepyhead too small at ten weeks?

I don't get it! My baby seems so squashed and he isn't particularly big! I need the sleepyhead as my baby has reflux and ends up crying every night from 4am til morning so I get him out of his snuzpod and put him next to me in a sleepyhead so I can keep putting the blooming dummy in to comfort him! Am I doing something wrong? I leave the end untied to make it wider?

I have both those items, and done exactly the same as you for the same reasons. DS2 was born weighing 9lb but by 10 - 12 weeks was so squashed in it!! He did absolutely love it, and it was a huge comfort to him, but I had to stop using it as he was way too big for it..not helpful to you..but I wonder if there are other people with the same issue!! Should of gone for the bigger size straight off!

My 98th (weight and height) baby was in hers until she was 11 months. We just had the end undone from fairly early on and she never seemed uncomfortable. She liked to hang her legs over the side and was a very still sleeper though.

The bigger one, which were now using has much softer sides, I’m unsure how safe it is for a baby under the recommended age of 8 months.

I’m currently using a sleepyhead in a snuzpod for my 11 week old and she is filling it out already. No way is she going to make it to 8 months in there!

My 9lb baby was in it till 4.5 months in our Chico bedside crib thingy. Like @DJS88 we just opened the bottom part. We then moved her into her big cot in it and again just kept the bottom Open and moved it up so her feet dangled out. We obvs removed it when she started rolling onto her front

My post should obviously say 98th centile babyGrin

Spainintherain · 05/06/2019 21:26

It's the narrow-ness of it though ! He can't move a muscle and he is just average weight (tall though)

My little girl was out of it by 3 months and she was 7lb born and followed the 50th centile line, the sleepyhead is definitely too small and there was no chance she was making it to four months in it never mind the 8 it says it can go up too :( no advice I'm sorry just wanted to say same here xx

The grand one is far too big for a small baby. We bought the grand one when DS was 4 months old because he was far too long for the deluxe but there’s no way he could’ve safely slept in the grand version, it’s ginormous.

We just kept him in the deluxe. He’s 7 months old now, weighs 22 lbs and he’s been too long for it for months but he’s still comfortable in it.

They are meant to be squished in. That’s the point of it!

Mine is 6.5 months and looking a big squashed, but the squashedness is the only way she’ll actually sleep; otherwise she wriggles and wakes herself up.
