Quick help with swaddle bag/GroSwaddle?

My daughter was born 5 days ago, had first night at home yesterday. I bought a sleeping bag but can't use it until she's 8lb 8oz. My son was big so expecting another big baby but she was only 6.5lb, so can't use the sleeping bag yet.

I swaddled her with a blanket last night as they did in hospital but don't feel confident doing it at home. I'm going to see if I can pick up a GroSwaddle this afternoon.

Are they any good? Most importantly, are they safe?

I tried it and my daughter hated it, but she also hated being swaddled. The other thing to look ate a grosnug, which is like a smaller sleeping bag which you can swaddle arms in, or have out.

You can swaddle her on a muslin square if she's small, triangle with the point to her feet flat side level with her shoulders and wrap round and tuck in, most babies feel safe wrapped up

Do you mean grosnug. I used them with ds and they were great. He was big so grew out of them annoyingly soon but slept really well in then while they last.

We much prefer the Love to Dream arms up sleeping bags - the Gro ones bunched a lot around my DD's mouth and nose and she prefers to have her arms up. Not sure what size of baby they start at though.

We had the groswaddle and the grosnug. The snug is more like a small sleeping bag and we found it easier for nappy changes and for knowing how to layer for temperature.
