Washable / reusable breast pads - any good?!

I’m getting through breast pads at a rate of knots (I produce and leak a lot of milk!) and I’m hating the amount of waste I’m creating but also the really good absorbent ones aren’t cheap!

Has anyone tried the washable pads and where did you get them from / what material were they made of?

Little lambs bamboo ones are amazing, still going strong 20 months later...

I had amazing ones when I lived in NZ. So much more comfortable than disposables and worked brilliantly. Can't remember name though. Definitely try some.

Asda, £1 for 6. Come with a little bag for washing. Really comfy

I had bamboo reusables. They were comfortable and I was happy with how they looked/felt.

However, after a couple of months I became a bit suspicious that they might be causing a sort of thrush-looking skin reaction even though I washed them regularly.

If I were to use them for another baby I would want to wash them at 60 degrees to help kill any bacteria.

Whether that's practical or not depends on whether you regularly do laundry at 60 degrees (I don't - I only wash bedding and towels on 60 and not often enough to keep me supplied in breastpads.

Really good. Stay in place better too.

I have some and I love them. I found disposables very itchy. I bought 14 for about £14 on Etsy - they’re pretty cotton patterns one side (you could request colours), towelling the other with some sort of absorbent core. I put them in the wash with my normal washing, in a little mesh bag.

I had a lot of milk and found the reusables just couldn't cope with my supply, not until over 18 months pp!

I also found that they became a bit mis-shapen over time, so although they were ok at nigh, I couldn't wear them out during the day!

I did seem to have a disproportionately large amount of milk compared to anyone else I know though!

I used cheeky wipes ones. I really liked them.

I used little lamb bamboo ones too, loved them. I leaked lots at the beginning but I don't use any now at 14 months.
