I had to have iron tablets but why would that effect her teeth?? Is it something to be concerned about?

Iirc it's flourosis, too much calcium. Mention it to the dentist when you go to double check.

I had that on some of my baby teeth! It's called enamel hypoplasia but it's more commonly referred to as 'chalky teeth'. My adult teeth don't have it at all though.

Here's a little bit of info on it: www.ckdentistry.com/blog/treating-enamel-hypoplasia-chalky-teeth-in-charlotte/

Has she had her first dental check up yet? Your dentist will be able to give you all the advice and guidance you need. Keep up with the good brushing though as that's very important Smile

@LoafofSellotape That's interesting. I'd not heard of that before but it looks like it could be. Maybe i'm wrong about the chalky teeth, OP? Both conditions look very similar! I hope you get to the bottom of it!

Most dentists will see kids as soon as they have teeth I think.

Tini17 · 30/05/2019 20:16

Most dentists will see babies even before they have teeth - to start them getting used to the environment and to advise on oral health etc

WeAreAllAdults · 30/05/2019 20:24

Definitely. I took my DS first at 8 months old. The dentist was adorable with him and used his dummy to have a look around his mouth. As others have said, it's about getting them used to going at this age Smile

PulpHorn · 30/05/2019 20:28

Sometimes just slight damage, sometimes like PP said- enamel hypoplasia or hypomineralisation. When it's slightly softer or deficient in a tiny area. Absolutely nothing to worry about

adviceplease88 · 30/05/2019 20:56

Thank you everyone! I hope it doesn't progress or go on all her teeth! I will book her into the dentist! :D
