Tips for getting toddler to drink

Hi- my 2.5 year old toddler is terrible to drink. She eats really well. Doesn’t suffer from constipation. However, she is potty trained so probably only goes for a wee four times during waking hours and her urine is yellow. She will drink at most one Nuba bottle of water a day. She will have yoghurt, one or two small cups of milk and a smoothie, milk on her cereal. Nowhere near enough. Things I have tried- multiple different cups, always handing her drinks in car, buggy, watching tv, etc. Modelling drinking and “cheers”, praise for drinking. Always has access to drinks. Does anyone have any advice? Thank you

I wouldn't worry too much of she's not constipated - some people just don't need as much water (I'm one of them!) . She'll just be getting plenty from her diet.

Other ideas however - make it more interesting - her her to pick a water bottle and or a straw. My kids drink so much more when they get a straw!

Honestly? It might not be the optimum but given she isn't constipated or dehydrated I just wouldn't worry about it.

As the saying goes, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

Straws always helped us and dare I say it, teaching how to swig out of a bottle. I think with toddlers there needs to be novelty in lots of what they do. I also did things like colour milk with a strawberry or kiwi so that it looked fun to have. That helped for a bit but the straws always helped and still do !

Lollies always worked here - fruit and water whizzed up and frozen

I find my toddler will use some types of. Ottawa over others. He prefers bottles with a straw over cups, sippy cups
