Immunisations

Looking for a bit of advice please.

I just got a letter saying my wee one has her first set of immunisations on 14 June. We have already planned a lunch party for the 15 June to celebrate her arrival and introduce her to the wider family.

Is she likely to be out of sorts for a few days after her immunisations? Would you move the party?

Thanks x

DS had a temperature after his first jabs but calpol sorted it out. He did also have a very sore and tender leg for a couple of days so I'd probably be more concerned about your DD being passed around and accidentally getting her leg squashed by someone 😬

I think she may be a little more grumpy than usual, my LO was only affected later on that day and he slept more but he was fine the next day, I would probably keep the party the same it might prove a bit of a distraction for her if she is a bit grumpy, it's weather your going to feel up to it though as I got 0% sleep that night so you may be tired and a bit blergh!... yano

@janet20 yesss to the passing about... maybe just mention it to people so they're a bit more careful... I always asked the nurse to put plasters on my LOs legs so I knew where to be careful of

Mine was fine after the first set of vaccinations.

Rotavirus drops can upset tummies, and it is a live virus which can be passed on through dirty nappies so if any of your relatives kindly offer to change a nappy (it could happen Smile though I've no relatives that offer...)let them know to be extra careful about hand hygiene!

Both of my children were totally fine.

Can you move the jabs to a few days after, rather than the day before, your gathering?

I'f important to,get them done, but the timings aren't that rigid
