Cows milk when out

My 1 year old daughter has recently started drinking cows milk and we are going on a trip to a farm all day which is in the middle of nowhere. They don't have any milk available that they can give us. What do we do about her bottle feed? Can we take milk with us? How is it best to store it? Thanks.

I an cool bag with an ice pack? Does she still need milk in the day. Our just turned one year old would be happy with water as long as there is something to eat. Understand though if she’s still on day time milk.

There is no earthly reason why a one-year-old cannot go all day without drinking milk. She should be on normal healthy food and drinking water out of a cup. If you are taking a packup give her sandwiches, plenty of fruit and finger food and a drink of water. Bin the bottle entirely

Yup, cool bag or water. As a one off I'd just take water and food that you know she'll eat. At 1 they generally don't NEED a lot of milk unless there's other issues.

You could take UHT milk.

BethMaddison · 20/05/2019 10:20

Could you freeze some in an ice cube tray and add to some chilled milk then use an insulated bottle bag ? Depends how hot it is I guess if not too warm just chilled in a bottle bag would be fine

Mine all still loved milk in the day till they went to school. I see it as if they are eating well why does it matter just like us we don’t need tea/coffee etc etc but majority of adults have done each day

She's a terrible feeder which we are trying to work on. We've cut down her bottles a lot but she does still have 1 in the day and one at night.

@Confusedbeetle in a perfect world yes but not when your child isn't the best at eating and only wants weetabix all the time!

Give it in the car on the way? Or before you go?

nwlondoner · 20/05/2019 11:55

@BogglesGoggles thank you that's a good idea.

Insulated bottle to keep it cold or a cool bag.

You can get UHT individual cartoons with a straw or alpro growing up soya milk the same way.

DrEmilyCrabtree · 20/05/2019 12:37

I used the cartons of growing up milk for my dd. Was easy to just have one in the bag in case, and no issue if she didn't have it. She was still sometimes having milk in the day after she turned one, despite being quite a good eater generally. I figured that it wasn't going to do her any harm on the occasions she did want it. She's only a little dot, centile wise, so I just went with it. She's nearer 1 and a half now, and I can't remember the last time she had milk in the day.

Skyejuly · 20/05/2019 12:41

I just used to take a cold bag.

BethMaddison · 20/05/2019 12:55

Yes could you get a little carton of the formula she used to have as a one off? I’m sure she would probably still drink it
