No teeth for DD...slightly worried.

DD2 is nearly 10 months she still hasn’t got any teeth & i’m getting slightly concerned, I remember DD1 got her first tooth just after she turnt 6 months & then she went on to get another 2 or 3 more fairly quickly.

I’m just looking for reassurance really & am I worrying over nothing? She’s shown signs of teething on & off the past few months but nothing appears.

Don't worry. My daughter was almost 2 before she had any teeth. She's 23 now. Her teeth are gorgeous 😁😁

Ds2 didn't get his first tooth til he was 13months. Hvisitor said they wouldn't get concerned until 16months old. He's a fine fully toothed 3yo now.

DS was around 18 months before his first tooth. I'd mentioned it to the health visitor who wasn't concerned

My DD was 13 months before she got her first tooth! Yes, it's later than average, but not unheard of. DS was 9 months. Try not to worry, it will come soon.

I believe if child isn’t premature the incisors should normally be in by 12 months so if there are none at that point then raise it with your dentist and they can decide if a referral is needed.

DS2 didn't get his first tooth until he was 12 months, i was a bit worried too as DS1 had his first at 4 months and DD at 6 months. We've been for his dentist check up today and he's only just got a full set of baby teeth at 3.

MypreciousWaja · 17/05/2019 21:55

My dd didn't get her first tooth until she was 16 months old and even then each one took ages to come through. The dentist said she had very tough, fibrous gums. They all came through eventually!

I think you're worrying over nothing. My niece got her first tooth at 18 months. My son was 13 months and some of my friends children got there first tooth after 12 months. It varies so much from child to child. I heard from a dentist friend that if no tooth appears by 18 months then to get baby checked out by the dentist.

My second didn’t get her first tooth until about 10 months, maybe later. At the time I was slightly worried because my older one has his first teeth at 6 month!

Tinks15 · 17/05/2019 22:23

Ah thanks everyone, I’m clearly over worrying by the sounds of it. I didn’t realise children can be as late as 18 months before their first tooth!
Hopefully hers makes an appearance soon anyway.

Yes my son had no teeth on his first birthday, he's now 2 and only has a couple more to come through.

RandomMess · 17/05/2019 22:34

Mine all got their first post 14 mo the and possibly near 2!

meadow00 · 17/05/2019 22:36

I had no teeth until I was 2 years old! Now 26 every time I go to the dentist they say how great my teeth are and I have never had to have a filling or any work done!

Hecateh · 17/05/2019 22:56

It seems that the later they get their teeth, the stronger the teeth are. So the later the better really.

It really isn't something that needs to be worried about as all children get teeth eventually

BikeRunSki · 17/05/2019 22:59

DS didn’t get his first tooth until the week before his first birthday. Then he got 7 in 10 days!

Waterlemon · 17/05/2019 23:06

My dc were crawling and walking very early but were very late at cutting their teeth and talking.

They were also both the last in their classes to have a visit from the tooth fairy, even though one child is the oldest in his year!

Waterlemon · 17/05/2019 23:07

When they did start cutting teeth, they always got several at once.
