Is a 5am start the norm?!

Hi all, let me just start by saying I know I'm incredibly lucky by having children that sleep. I just need some advice.
Little one is 4 months and has slept through for the last month or so.
He has his last bottle around 7.30pm/8pm and I dont hear a peep until morning. But...my days starts at 4.30am/5am as he is awake and ready to start the day.
He isnt hungry as sometimes doesn't want a bottle for a good half hour or so once hes up, hes pretty happy!
Naps are hit and miss in the day, hard to get to sleep and stay asleep, total opposite to night time where he self settles.
Question is, is there any point trying to get him to start his day later. Is it even possible?! Any things I can try? He has 8oz bottles every 3/4hours in the day, bedroom around 20 with a 1.5tog bag so I dont think he is cold.
I have a 3 year old too so these 5am starts are a bit of a killer, but like I say, I know I'm lucky he sleeps through.
Thanks in advance x

we used to take turns on getting up with ds to make it bearable. was nice he went to bed 8pm though and we`d get some quiet down time.

OP, how long has he been doing this because it might just be a phase? My LO is 8 months old now but went through a phase of waking at that time. It was a killer as like you, I like my evenings, but I did a few early nights to catch up, and now he will sleep until 7ish, even if he wakes at 5ish and resettles himself.

Definitely not normal in my own experience. My boy started sleeping through spontaneously at 11 weeks till 7.30 - 8.00
But hearing from some other mums it seems to be their normal. So I conclude it varies a lot and is all down to luck.

Hes been waking at 4.30/5am for a couple.of weeks now. Hes just gone down now and I'm so very very lucky he wont make a peep till 5am so we do get an evening but its obv v tiring. Hopefully as he gets bigger and older it may stretch to 6/6.30 Grin

I do understand it's not nice getting up at 5am but it's early enough that you can still have a couple of hours with your DH now but still go to bed early enough to not find it too bad in the morning. None of this lasts forever, it will soon change again.
