Looks slightly worse than that in person she screamed really bad but stopped after a minute. Now she's laughing and talking etc but are baby's heads hard at this age?? Or could it of done damage?? Will she need a head scan or something?

Looks fine. It's worrying the first few times but it's going to happen a lot as she learns to be steady on her feet. If she seems ok in herself, it's not caved inwards, she's not drowsy or vomiting, then it's just a case of keep an eye on her Flowers

You do not need to take your child to a&e for a bump and bruise on her head!!! Think rationally. All children fall, don't feel guilty about it, but do not take her to a&e! As pp said, if her mood changes or she becomes lethargic then call 111 for advice.

Keep an eye out for signs of concussion:
Glazy eyes
Dizziness
Vomiting

Check the NHS website for those.

Chill. It happens to all of us. DS (2yo) seems to have inherited my clumsiness. Just little bumps but I always keep an eye after if he's hurt his head, poor lamb. All part and parcel of them developing their motor skills.

They're pretty robust and he is usually off walking around and being mad within a minute or two (and after a quick snuggle).

You’ll have to get used to it OP, once they’re on the move they bump their head all the time and there’s nothing much you can do about it except do some sensible baby proofing

asdou · 16/05/2019 13:06

I wouldn't be going to A&E for that. Not unless she's vomiting, sleeping more than usual.

estevann · 16/05/2019 13:48

Thanks everyone. I panicked cause of how she reacted. She seems fine Grinsorry for the over reaction

I was told, it's VITAL to get straight to A&E if the baby falls unconscious immediately after a bang. If they scream their heads off, they're probably not a break-the-red-lights case.
