5 month old...what to do?

What do people do with their 5 month olds all day? I have an older child so we walk to school morning and afternoon. We often go to the park/for a walk after school. Once a week we go to a baby group and weekends we are out and about most of the day...swimming/park/museum etc. But other days we often just stay in during the school day. We play around the house/sit in the garden/sing/look at books etc. We might meet a friend for coffee one day. I am utterly exhausted at the moment as she’s a very poor sleeper at night so days in are needed for me, but is she missing out? She seems happy and engaged in life but I can’t remember what I did with my first child. Thanks!

Sounds perfectly normal.

Thanks! Am likely over thinking due to exhaustion/anxiety...just wanted to ‘check in’ with other mums! Thanks 🙂

Sounds good to me. Sometimes we go to a shop which she seems to like, but other than that our time sounds similar to yours minus the school drop off and pick up!

I do find myself filling my day if it's not busy. I trawl the shops (and charity shops), go to a cafe/museum or library, wonder around the supermarket or go to an out of town supermarket or big mall. I don't even always buy anything or have anything to buy particularly. Or we go to the swimming pool or the park or the soft play.

If I had a nice house I'd stay in and clean it though. Instead I'm mostly avoiding going home.

Walks, meet friends, baby classes once or twice a week, have a nap, supermarket trip.

That sounds very normal Smile maybe try visiting the library or going swimming if you feel like switching things up? There's a lot of local Facebook pages where I live with lots of ideas for days out and new parks to try with the kids. Might be worth a search in your area if you're on fb
