How much?

How much does your child eat in a day? And what times? I'm starting to think my dd (11 month nearly) has her dinner to late, just looking to see how others do it :) thanks

At 11 months both hardly ate anything and just wanted milk, i worried a bit with my first but with my second someone had said food is for fun until they're one and that kept me sane! At 2 and 4 they still have tiny appetites and like little and often.

Oh and times, breakfast around 8am, lunch at midday, dinner at 5ish seems to work and a healthy snack at 10ish and a naughty snack at 3ish.

An average day for my 15 month is
7.30-Weetabix
9/10-some fruit or biscuit
1-sandwich or noodles or French toast etc
3.30-snack
5-dinner, her favourite is stir-fry
Milk or juice throughout the day
She used to eat more but has got quite picky

Thank you this helps me a lot. I give her food about an hour before she sleeps and she tends to wake up then go straight back till morning but do u think it's making her unsettled?

I'm no expert but i wouldn't say eating an hour before bed would make her unsettled.

@pipnchops thank u!

If your 11 month old is sleeping through then don’t change a thing!

Dd2 is an absolute food machine. She's 21 months. If I let her she would happily chow down all day. She is not fat but she is solid, muscular, strong and built like a mini boulder. Your child will let you know how much they want to eat and when.

Mine are 4 and 2 so a little older. They have 2 weetabix or an adult portion of porridge with fruit for breakfast with either a cup of milk or a smoothie. Lunch a round of sandwiches or similar with something like peppers/ cucumber/ tomatoes. Fruit after. Dinner they have half an adult portion of whatever we’re eating with more of a ‘treat’ pudding - yogurt, custard, biscuit etc. I’ve never felt the need to give snacks really as a they seem to eat their meals better without and I feel like it’s better for their teeth to not keep eating. They will have a snack if at a playgroup or something though.

Breakfast 8am., lunch midday, dinner 5ish.

My DD is 16 months and this is her average day.
8oz's milk at 6.30am
Fruit and toast straight after
Porridge or cereal around 10am
Nap
Lunch around 12pm
Snack around 2pm
Tea around 4.30pm
8oz's milk at 6.30pm
Bed for 7pm
She also has water or juice throughout the day in a tippy cup.

DS is almost 10 months and we do breakfast at about 7.30, usually a porridge ball or slice of toast plus fruit. Lunch at 2-2.30 ish after nap, dinner 5.45 ish, he eats whatever we're having. Milk about an hour after each meal, plus one bottle at about 11.30 ish.

Works fine for us. I realise the late lunch is fairly unusual but we're normally out at groups or classes till 11 or half past, and he's either asleep or very very tired by the time we're home, so lunch after nap suits us better.

As for how much, that's up to him! Sometimes it's a slice of toast and half a banana, sometimes it's two sticks of cucumber.

15 month old.

Has about 6 oz milk abput 30 mins after waking at 10 am. Then reddy brek with mango and about 6 oz of milk in reddy brek (ensures he gets his 12 oz milk per day)

2/2.30 he has something like beans and cheese on toast or toast and dippy egg, followed by blueberry and banana yoghurt (whizzed up by me) nap is 3.30 til 5.30
Dinner 8/8.30 he has a smaller portion of what we eat. Yesterday it was one sweet potato roasted ( he won’t eat mash potato) carrots, peas and a quarter of a pork loin chop in a cider cream and onion sauce. He’ll have a banana or pear for afters. We don’t bother with snacks.
Bed is 9.30, every other eve we have a bath. It’s pretty much straight from dinner to bath

My youngest is 15 months now but we’ve always eaten around 6:30-7pm. He goes to bed about 8, same as our 6 year old. Unfortunately, 10 months is a tough age. I think if she’s only waking once you’re very lucky!
