Best nappies for overnight

We are having pee issues with my three month old DD. She's sleeping decent lengths of time overnight now, but even when I change her at her first wake up, by next morning wake up pee has soaked through the nappy and into her sleepsuit and sleeping bags.

Am I doing something wrong?! I've tried Pampers and Tesco's own and both have resulted in a damp little girl in the morning SadIt seems to be soaking through the nappy itself, not leaking out the sides. I don't really want to wake her up, but I'm worried she will get a rash (plus it's not very nice I imagine lying in damp clothes).

Any tips or suggestions?! Is she just a pee monster?!

Have you tried sizing up? Or the + size (which means extra absorption). We used to do that at that age as DD was sleeping through but still pretty tiny and the nappies couldn’t cope otherwise! As for brand, we favour pampers active fit for overnight but a lot depends on your baby’s shape and size- what works for one might not work for another.

Aldi nappies are a win for me!
But maybe try and size up to see if that makes it any better??

We use pampers pure at night and never had any problems

Mine is 2.5 months. Every time we've used Tesco he leaked everywhere. We have Aldi as he didn't leak with them and they're cheaper than Pampers, which he also didn't leak in but what I was told pre baby is just to experiment as it depends on your baby's body shape - we've also had Asda and Morrisons. I'd also try using a size up for the extra absorbency.

Tried many different ones, all leaked.
Aldi were the clear winners

Aldi worked for our girl too, she was soaking through pampers at night. The only issue I have with aldi nappies is I think they have a strong snell but other than that would recommend them.

Vanannabananna · 14/05/2019 04:51

Pampers were fine Rory son but my daughter leaked through them. Aldi were a clear winner for us.

Newyearnewunicorn · 14/05/2019 05:39

Lidl nappies with the magical tubes are the only nappies that work overnight for my ds and I’ve tried many makes. Sainsbury’s are good with an elasticated back. It depends on where they leak.

Chippychipsforme · 14/05/2019 07:52

Aldi here too. Is her vest too tight? That's caused issues with us before.

BigRedBoat · 14/05/2019 08:52

Have you tried going up a size? I had to buy a size 4 as they had no size 3s when I went shopping (dd is 8.5kg) and we haven't had any wee leaks since.

theruffles · 14/05/2019 09:17

It might be time to go up a size. If my DD has continuous leaks it's been a sign for us that she needs to move up a size in nappy.

I've found Aldi's Mamia to be very good and Asda's own brand are great too.

Emmabryant123 · 14/05/2019 09:17

I would try going up a nappy size and a vest size
If the vest was to tight my dd nappies leaked as a baby

Heymummee · 14/05/2019 09:19

Aldi nappies here too. Size up for night time might help. The new Aldi nappies are great, they have some kind of new air flow system to them apparently. Also vest being tight had caused leakage here in the past.

FurryGiraffe · 14/05/2019 09:34

Size up and if still a problem try using a bamboo booster. They're designed for cloth nappies but you can easily pop them in a disposable. You do have to wash them but it's less hassle than washing sleepsuits and bedding all the time!

Celebelly · 14/05/2019 09:47

Thanks all! I might take a trip to Aldi...

She's in size 2s at the moment so I might get a small pack of size 3s and see how we get on!

Oh and interesting about vests too - we are just transitioning her into her 3-6 month vests and cycling out the old smaller ones. No leaks last night in one of her new bigger vests so maybe tighter vests were partly to blame!

How did you get on op?

chickensdontpocktheypeck · 18/05/2019 20:52

Lidl lupilu nappies are fantastic

But.. are + sizes in all nappies meaning extra absorption??? I though it was just sides, 4, 4+, 5, 5+
?

If so , 3 kids later, mindblown

chickensdontpocktheypeck · 18/05/2019 20:52

Sizes*

Celebelly · 18/05/2019 20:53

Ooh I meant to come and update. A friend actually lent us some reusable nappies and boosters to see how we got on with those and so far they seem to be working well for us, so going to try a few more nights then might take the plunge! We've done three nights in them with no leaks so far.

I think she probably does need a bigger size of disposables, she has very chubby legs and a big tum!

Celebelly · 18/05/2019 20:54

I also didn't know about the + thing!

LuckyKitty13 · 18/05/2019 21:01

Great to hear your update! We use reusable/cloth nappies day and night and they have never leaked - great night time solution even if you're using disposables in the day. Bamboo ones are the most absorbent, but cotton with boosters are good too.
