One-year vaccinations - how was your little one afterwards?

My one-year old is having her vaccinations this week. She's just getting over a bad virus where she was so ill she couldn't go to nursery, so I'm worried about having the vaccinations so soon.

How was your little one after their one-year vaccinations? Is it worth delaying until next week?? I have industrial quantities of calpol of course.

My LO was fine, bit of a temp/cold about 5 days after which the nurse said could happen with the MMR but was ok after a day or two.

Did your DC have a fever with the illness? If so then you might be better off postponing. If there was no fever though you'll be fine, normal coughs and colds are usually no reason to postpone (although they can be nasty at the time and hard on you and your baby).

My DS was fine after his vaccinations, he had a slight fever overnight and was unsettled but other than that no problems.

I’d delay a little longer. My wee one was around 14 months and had a particularly bad temperature for a good few days after the MMR and a rash round her eyes as well. There is no way she’d have been fit for nursery for at least 3/4 days. And if I recall correctly it wasn’t immediate- it was a few days later.

I meant to say, call the surgery and ask the nurse what she/he recommends.

I wouldn't delay unless you absolutely have to BTW, measles is unfortunately on the rise, and the kids most at risk are babies not yet vaccinated.

The same as after the first batch, very high temp from men c one so I'd go off how she's been for those ones x

She was a bit unsettled after her previous vaccinations, but no fever and fine the day after. So perhaps we'll be ok. She had a fever about a week ago I should clarify, but that went away after a day, though she remained unwell for many days afterwards.

My DC had a slightly raised temperature and wasn't the self for a few days but it soon passed. I personally wouldn't delay the vaccinations seeing as Measles is on the rise again.

Make sure you have plenty of Calpol in case you need it.

Good luck OP. You may have a challenging couple of days ahead of you, but it will be worth it in the end xx

Thank you everyone, all done and she's asleep. Agree with PPs, definitely worth it! Just need to get the chickenpox vax in a month now...
