14 week old feeding less and sleeping more

I'm a bit worried about my 14 week old. She is formula fed and two weeks ago weighed 12lb. She usually takes between 700 and 800ml a day (24-28floz) but yesterday just took 22floz.

Today she has had less than usual just about 3floz for each meal and she is napping much longer than usual and has napped through her last feed time and is still asleep.

She went to bed at 630pm last night and woke at 3.30am for milk (had a good feed) but she hadn't had a wet nappy in that whole time - she has had plenty today though.

Do you think this is concerning? Last week she had upped her milk intake and now it's dropped again.

Hi! I've had 5, although not ff, but I'm not sure if that effects things. If her fontanelle is ok and she has plenty of wet nappies and generally seem swell in herself - so even if she's drowsy she's not floppy or hard to wake up, then I wouldn't worry overly. She is probably going through a growth spurt or otherwise a leap. They grow and change so much in the first few weeks and I do now that at around 12-14 weeks they go through a big one.
I'm not a medical professional of course and you need to follow your gut. And generally if something is wrong you know it. It feels off somehow. But it sounds to me like she's just changing her patterns a bit and sleeping more. Hopefully you can get some rest too.

Sorry for all the typos above, but just wanted to add. Be wary of frequent weighing (unless there's a medical need). I virtually never weighed mine after birth when the midwife stopped coming because I just felt it could become a source of worry. I saw that in friends. Your daughter is an individual and her weight will fluctuate. As long as she seems happy enough I'm sure she's ok.

Thank you for replying, I think you're probably right. I was anxious all day because her feeds were quite small but then she was hungry before bed and had quite a lot. I think I need to relax a bit.

It's so hard to relax. I totally get that. The thing is the time when they are so small and needy goes quickly. As they say, 'the days are long but the years are quick' and this is so true. It is crazy stressful but I hope you are able to relax and enjoy this time too--although I know it's utterly exhausting.

I don't know- I have moments of enjoying it but mainly I'm just wishing it away which is awful as my anxiety is quite bad and I don't deal well with the uncertainty of life with a very young baby.

Ah it’s so difficult when they just don’t seem themselves.
Maybe she’s coming down with something so is sleeping a bit more.
As for the milk, I always think to myself, as adults we have days where we eat a bit less or a bit more and really, I guess babies are similar.
I would keep a close eye, offer plenty of milk and if you’re further concerned call 111.

Thank you she seems back to normal today think she was just very tired for whatever reason, I'll keep an eye on her.

Sometimes they sleep more when they're having a growth spurt. They eat lots for a day or two, then it tapers off, and they sleep lots for a day or two.
Having a little baby is so stressful. It'll get easier.
