Baby flipped on tummy...

My son was on his play mat in the living room when I went to go wash his pacifier in the kitchen which is right next to where he was. I heard a weird sound and then heard it again (it was like a grunt) when I went to go check on him he was on his tummy face down. He’s almost 6 months old and I know he can lift his head up and turn it because he sleeps on his tummy sometimes at night because I can’t stop him from turning over. He seemed to be ok, he took his bottle and is now napping. Do you think he’s ok? I’m worried he wasn’t breathing and I don’t know how to tell besides checking the color of his lips and nail beds...

He is fine

More likely he made the grunt as he was turning over, or grunting because he was trying to get up to attempt to crawl

That’s funny your say that because he does grunt when he tries to crawl haha thank you!

It’s easy to panic as a first time mum. Smile

Do you do tummy time with him? It's no different.

Ns19 · 23/04/2019 18:51

Yes but it was just scary to see him face planted like that

My 5 month old grandson makes all sorts of grunting and shouting noises when he turns over almost like he is psyching himself up.

Floatingfancy · 23/04/2019 18:54

Of course he's fine. He's six months, lots of tummy time is normal Smile

You need to plonk him down on his tummy several times a day for a few minutes each time anyway, so he can develop the strength to crawl.
