Breastfeeding struggle

Hi I’m not sure if anyone will answer or not but here goes,
I’m currently breastfeeding my 9 week lg and it’s been hell I’ve got a 22m lb too so it’s pretty hard.
The first couple of weeks i had latch problems and i was really sore but then it settled but a few weeks later she was showing colic signs so started infacol didn’t work then our gp said reflux and prescribed us gaviscon but it was a nightmare to make up so we switched to ranitidine, things started to improve for a week or so then we were back in square one she crys all day and really gassy too on top of green mucusy BM she point blank refuses to nap in the day and i just want to go to the shop and buy formula so i can have a break please don’t judge me for this I’m run down enough as it is. I’m absolutely exhausted and i just don’t know what to so next! I didn’t BF my first so all this is new to me but he does have CMPA so I’m wondering if the baby has the same i did go dairy free for 10 days before we settled on the fact it could be reflux. It makes it harder because she just won’t settle for anyone so I can’t even have a break.

Give the formula!

I have a twelve week old with reflux and am mix feeding now. I went dairy free for nine weeks but as he's having formula too seems pointless to continue now as there's dairy in formula. Ranitidine worked for a week for us and then stopped working, I've stopped all his meds since Saturday as I think it was giving him wind and he's actually been much better (touchwood) so I'm crossing everything that he's starting to grow out of it now. It's bloody awful, do what you need to do to keep yourself sane without guilt.

My BF baby had the same symptoms and was diagnosed as CMPA when he was 9 weeks old.

When it comes to breast feeding you have to give up dairy for 4-6 weeks before you may see an improvement in your baby’s symptoms.

The fact your first son is CMPA considerably raises the chances of your current baby having it too.

I guess it’s just making the decision as to whether you want to trial prescription formula or go dairy free and continue breastfeeding?

Whatever choice you make, please don’t feel guilty about anything Flowers
