Hi All,
This is my first post in this forum. Thank you for taking time to read this thread and support.
My DD is 30 months old this April. As a parent, we are convinced about her delays in speech development, but we are concerned if this is anything beyond that.
She began her nursery journey since jan '19 and the teachers have similar opinions. At first we wanted to give her some time thinking she might be a shy child. But our worries keep bundling up each day.
Following are some observations we made:-
-- doesnt respond to name, however, sometimes she does respond to my husband's continuous call.
-- no verbal communication.
-- no eye contact and very difficult to get her attention
-- visual stimming, she stares at things/objects at the corner of her eyes.
-- lining up of any objects(toys, spoons) stacking blocks, grouping balls by color
-- repeats some phrases of nursery rhymes.
--toe waking sometimes
-- regression, she used to name vegetables, fruits, colors, shapes at the age of 2 but stopped naming them now.
--obsessed with one nursery ryhme ( finger family)
-- she doesnt play/interact with other kids at the nursery, she is on her own world.
-- sometimes drags us around to communicate her needs ( snack, water, toys)..
-- very selective in response..e.g spontaneous (happy) reaction to certain words like cake, chocolate.
-- she follows few simple 2 word instructions upon tons of practice like come here, nose clean, diaper change, hand wash.
--she does pretend play with selective toys- phone, dinner play set.
-- not a fussy eater. No problems so far in feeding her.
-- very happy kid at home. Loves cuddles, playful.
-- good with Puzzles, and numbers 1-20. She can count them in reverse too.
I wonder if anyone had similiar experience with their LO. Please pop in your experiences and suggestions mums.
We love her very dearly and wish to help her soon.
Thank you, once again.
