Have year 5 and 6 children close in age. Today they were really really badly behaved at local holiday club along with another kid. She seems bit more like ringleader but they have both gone along with it willingly.
Swearing at staff, rude, running away from place etc. They’ve had few minor run ins before but nothing like this and they’re not allowed back next week which leaves massive problem as we both work full time. But that’s another headache. Main thing is what to do.
Our DD is worse than DS. She has been talked to before about her rotten attitude but it’s always been within house not outside with others where she can come over usually as angel child. Particulalry at school.
I need to punish the kids for this awful behaviour but not sure what to do. Taking away electronics doesn’t seem enough but is taking away favourite activities too far?
I’m really ashamed embarrassed and mad at them. But it’s not like them losing hour time on games cos didn’t go to bed it’s much worse. So what’s appropriate response. They have said sorry but not sure if they are.

Natural consequences. I would make next week very boring for them. No exciting visits or trips out. Staying at home and no TV or electronics.

Completely agree with jackshouse natural consequences are the best ones.

Agree with jackshouse but I would also want to get to the bottom of why they had behaved so badly.

I would also make them write a proper apology letter to the staff.
I would absolutely stop any favourite activities and electronics. They are too old for that behaviour and following others is something that needs sorting before secondary.
