Giving a fussy 4 year old medicine

Hes a 4 year old who is already a fussy eater and seems to not grasp the concept of just because you don't like doesn't mean we don't have to get it down you. We've trying bribing with toys offering things to eat straight after shocking him when he's not expecting it and hiding it in his drinks / food.
At the minute im putting it in his milk but as soon as he realises it's in there he won't have anymore (I'm hoping he's at least getting a bit) because he's already fussy were worried he will stop having things we're putting it in for example he will only drink milk and water and this might put him off milk
I've already rang the doctors and ask them to prescribe something else as he wouldn't have the frist lot prescribed at my wits end.

Any suggestions or advice??

My Dd1 is EXACTLY like this!! This is what works for me. If it is liquid medicine, block his nose when you feed it to him, as you do tell him a story or just speak to him. As soon as he’s taken down the medicine, make him drink water and give him something to eat. I bribe my daughter like this, I say “If you take this, you get something chocolate!!” or anything else you’ll give her to eat after he’s taken the medicine. you can also try to bribe him with toys or days out too if that seems to help. If it’s pills, I would say crush and put in water or juice and carry out the same thing. hold his nose so he can’t taste!!
something my friend does, if it is pills, crush pills and put in his food (without telling him), like some rice or with some chicken, don’t tell him and feed it to him yourself or play ‘here comes the airplane’ (when you pretend the food is an airplane and its flying in his mouth lol.) worked for me but I know every kid is different. hope I helped OP, good luck! x

Mix in with yoghurt? You could even stir in some jam as well to make the yoghurt extra sweet & hide the flavour more effectively.

Mixed with honey or maple syrup here
