Sterilising bottles

Looking for some advice on sterilising bottles. We’ve got an all day wedding coming up and I’m trying to work out how’s best to take dd bottles with us. We’ve got some pre made bottles of milk so we don’t have to mess with boiling water. Our steriliser says the bottles stay sterile if unopened for 24 hours but it doesn’t say anything about how long they are ok to use after you’ve opened the steriliser. Would the bottles be ok to use throughout the day if they have lids over the teats? It’s a minefield trying to ensure everything’s done properly

If you are using a fresh bottle for each feed, with fresh premade formula I'd have thought that would be fine.

Assemble empty bottles and they are ok for 24 hours

How old is your baby? I became more relaxed as they got older.

Unless a newborn tiny I’d be happy with your plan.

Yes fine, as long as you use a fresh bottle per feed it will be absolutely fine imo 😊 I always did this for mine. Would sterilise a few bottles to take, make sure the caps are on the teats and take ready made formula and use a fresh bottle per feed!

When my sisters were babies in the early 2000’s, I remember my mum making up a few bottles with powder before going out, taking them with us and feeding them throughout the day, even milk that had been made hours before. I would not reccomend this Crazy, but they turned out fine! 😊

They will be fine. Once they have been through the steriliser, any harmful bacteria from any milk residue will have been killed off, technically as soon as the steriliser is opened they are no longer sterile (in the scientific meaning of the word) but they are clean enough and safe to use.

Thank you all for your advice! Dd will be nearly 5 months by the time we attend the wedding. I’ll stick to my plan then of a fresh bottle for each feed and use the pre mixed formula 😊
