Having 2 only children!

Anyone had 2 dcs with 7 years between them? Someone told me today that it would be like having 2 only children as they won't play together and it would be very difficult as they would be at different stages and no similar age siblings to play with. Got me thinking.. any experiences?

7 years between my sister and I; were best friends!

That's the age gap between mine and it's ridiculous!
It's great, and works really well here.

Big gap between my children and they adore each other. Big gap between my sister and I too, not a problem there either. You could have children 15 months apart who have nothing in common and fight all the time.

Ive done the seven year gap twice. Have dd15, dd8 and ds nearly 1. There are pros and cons. Dd8 mothers ds. Dd15 mothered dd8 when she was little. It is and was a big help. I personally like being able to focus on ds when they are at school. (Work part time)

DH is 9 years younger than his sister and 10 years younger than his brother. He does describe his childhood as a bit like being an only child since they had both left for uni by the time he was 8 but they’re all incredibly close as adults. We take 2-3 holidays a year with them and you really don’t notice the age gap, except that our children are younger.

My dh And his dB are 16 years apart. They’re very close and best of friends.

Mine are 6 years apart (8 and 2). They adore each other at the minute.

Mine are also 6 years apart (8 and 2) and play together every day, they genuinely love being together. Currently dancing to the radio in ds's bedroom.
