What is a reasonable amount to sponsor DD to raise money for pre-school.

Hi all, this week DD is doing a sponsored activity to raise money for the pre-school she attends for new equipment. It’s a fab pre-school and I’m aware they don’t have a lot of spare money.

We don’t have a lot of family or friends nearby to ask for sponsors so when DS did this a few years ago myself and OH sponsored him £20 and we were going to the same for DD.

But, this week has been awfully draining financially. OH was in a minor car accident last week, I’ve had to pay for DS’s residential trip, my car has been in the garage for some repairs, Mother’s Day, my dads and grandads birthday. DS’s Birthday, Easter holidays approaching as well as the mortgage and council tax coming out, all in the space of a few days.

Would it look really bad if we just sponseted her a fiver? Or is too little? We don’t usually struggle as much but everything has hit us!

In the past I’ve noticed that some parents have raised over £100 for one child from family and friends but or family and friends don’t live nearby and I haven’t had chance to ask anybody!

I can also offer them a bag of change 5ps etc that’s in my drawer 😂

Every little helps and children that age are not competing, don't do more than you can spare!

A fiver is the maximum I sponsor my kids, its normally around £2.

Thank you. If I had other sponsors For her I would be happy giving her a fiver but feel paranoid the staff will think we are right for only sponsoring a fiver in total 😩

I wouldn't worry about that by the time she finishes school you will have sponsored her £100s so you have to pace yourself Grin

I wouldn’t worry. At my DCs school there’s usually a few who forget to hand back the form/sponsor money completely. Every little helps.
