Limit the amount of time your baby spends in car seat/ pram/ bouncy chair/ bumbo etc and let him or her have plenty of tummy time. And then don’t worry about it too much. They all seem to get there in their own time.

I have never seen two children do this step in the same way.
Eldest next bottom shuffled.

Next went backwards.
Niece was on top toes, no knees.
Other niece rolled all the time.

Just leave toys just out of touching distance, and smile when yours finds their way to do this

Plenty of tummy time.
I built block towers at the corner of the play mat, to encourage him to crawl to knock them down!

Crawling comes from a sitting position and leaning forward to reach things. It does not come from lying on the tummy. Make sure your baby has lots of time sitting on the floor surrounded by toys. If you baby bottom shuffles, rolls around the room or "comando crawls", they may entirely skip the normal crawling stage.

Mine never crawled. Or shuffled. He'd lay and roll. Then just got up and walked!

Dd1 struggles to sit without falling , showed no crawling desire then stood up and walked within a month (at 10 months) DD2 crawled more then got up and ran at 9 months.

They all learn skills in different order. Both of mine were 6month crawlers (nightmare) but could not sit up unaided until 10months. My friends refused to crawl but went straight to walking at 12 months

@BrokenLink Tummy time strengthens the back, core and neck muscles, all of which are important for crawling.
