Baby currently on Ella's kitchen but I feel like it'd be nice to introduce home cooked meals, has anyone got any recipe ideas or things I can buy at the supermarket tonight that I can make for her?
What ingredients or things to buy at the shop?

@HerSymphonyAndSong thank u for this! Also, dd is 8 months should she be sitting on her own now with no support? Mine still can't sit unassisted she would just fall to the side without me , I've seen baby's at this age crawling already !

It depends on how much you think a routine would help you. My son wakes himself up at a similar time each day so we end up doing things at similar times, but you don’t have to do that if sometimes your baby likes to sleep longer. But if that helps you then you could say that it was time to get up at 7am (for example) if that worked for you

My daughter doesn't really have a fixed routine... she does manage 3 meals a day plus snacks! Shes a very hungry baby... my son was hardly interested in food at her age.
I breast feed her when she wakes in the morning, anywhere between 8am- 10am... I dont wake her up of shes sleeping ever unless theres a place we have to be...then I leave it about an hour then she has ready break with whole milk and a fruit puree in it. She sometimes also has half a piece of toast in strips if she seems extra hungry.
Lunch she usually has an Ella's pouch because we are often out in town whilst my son is at school. Any time from midday to 2pm. She usually has a fromage frais afterwards or some banana. I breastfeed her again around that time.
Then she usually has a bit of a nap but the time can vary massively... sometimes if she woken up at 8am she has a nap at 11 ish.... she seems to have settled into having a nap about 2pm at the moment but that'll have probably changed next week lol!
Then she has dinner about 7 but sometimes as late as 9 depending on what's going on. She has a bit of whatever we are having unless it's something she cant eat in which case she has another pouch. Often she likes some sort of dessert as well like baby custard.
Then she breast feeds a little again and plays for a while in the living room... when she seems to get tired I take her up to her cot and breastfeed her on the bed with her musical bear playing. Then i put her down for the night. At the moment this seems to be about 10pm but can vary... sometimes she wants to go to bed as early as 7pm.
She usually sleeps about ten hours at the moment but we have the odd night where she wakes up. Only a couple of months ago she was waking every two hours.

My son was sitting unaided and crawling but they all do things at different times and your baby is probably concentrating on other developments that other babies aren’t doing yet. They do need to be able to sit reasonably well in a high chair ideally. But if you are worried then speak to your health visitor.

UnicornsAndGlitterxx · 13/03/2019 15:50

@HerSymphonyAndSong she can sit perfect in a high chair to eat as it's a padded one and has straps to keep her comfy in place x

@Ribbonsonabox I think a routine would really help me. A lot. Because she goes to bed late I'm then up doing things when she's sleeping that I meant to doin the day and I then go to bed even later and can never get myself up in the morning. I feel bad as it's my fault I don't get up meaning she doesn't get up early

Hi! My little boy is 10 months but we have been following a sort of routine since he was around 6 weeks which is super early but it was for own sanity. It has changed quite a bit and I would say that we do this sort of thing now:

7am: wakes up, plays in bedroom with me for a while until I can be bothers to go downstairs Grin

7.30/8am: bottle

8.30: breakfast - I give him porridge but you could try porridge fingers too if you want to let him feed himself. Also banana and cinnamon toast, rice crispies. NHS Start4Life has a great new weaning section which you could look at for ideas.

9am: get baby/myself dressed

9.30: baby naps for 45mins to 1 hour 30 depending on mood

11ish: go to a baby class or for a walk or something like that. If the weather is a bit crap like now I might just go to a cafe for a bit, I pretty much have to get out of the house every day! I find that my little boy is much less cranky with his teeth if we are out because he gets distracted.

12.30: lunch, I would just give him similar to myself so today he had a cheese omelette and some apple. Also loves veggie sticks with cream cheese, slices of pita bread, scrambled egg on toast, bits of sandwiches...

1ish: play for a bit with his toys or we might go out for the afternoon

3pm: another nap for about an hour

4pm: bottle

5.30pm: tea - small portion of what we are having but we just check salt content

6.30pm: bath

7pm: book, bottle, bed

Hope this might help a bit? This is my first baby so obviously not an expert but I find it useful hearing what other people are doing so I can adapt for my baby!

Gagging is a normal process of babes learning to eat. Just let babe work it out. Honestly just give what you eat bar choking hazard and honey under one. Cut foods into finger sized pizza no need for daft jars

user1496701154 · 13/03/2019 16:13

For recipes btry my fussy eater. My lovely little lunchbox also check out baby led weaning on Facebook it's great :) always offer milks/BN 30 minutes to an hour before a meals

UnicornsAndGlitterxx · 13/03/2019 16:15

@user1496701154 thank you! And I just gave her some toast which she seemed to like. And I agree I myself wouldn't like to eat those jars

user1496701154 · 13/03/2019 16:34

@UnicornsAndGlitter no problem these sites helped me. All I think is if we won't want to eat it why let our kids.

UnicornsAndGlitterxx · 13/03/2019 16:44

@user1496701154 totally agree. Although the rice pudding isn't to bad!
