Sleep training a reflux baby

Hi, I’ve not posted before but wondered if anyone has had a similar experience and how you overcame this. My DS is nearly 6 months and I have co slept and either fed or rocked him to sleep this far. He’s on Omeprazole for the reflux, which hasn’t helped much but he’s only been on it 10 days so I’ll give it a bit longer.
I don’t think we can use the controlled crying methods of sleep training due to the reflux but I wonder about the no-cry methods and if anyone has had success with this.
Thanks in advance

If he's not well with omeprazole that's probably why he is not sleeping . I would not attempt sleep training a baby if they're unwell. Go back to the doctor and see what you can change? Are you on a hypoallergenic formula?

Hi, thanks.
It’s really hard to tell if it’s the omeprazol or some of the solids I’ve started introducing. I’m back to just a small amount of veg to see if that helps for a couple of days.
He’s breastfed and I’ve cut out all dairy, eggs and oranges which seem to make him vomit. Although I’m dying for an ice cream!

My two friends who breastfed had to eventually give up breastfeeding and move to hypoallergenic formula like me as their babies were still not getting better. I used Althera prescribed by paed gastroenterologist and that, with liquid omeprazole, gave me a new, happy baby. It may not be the case for every breastfed baby, I don't know. Also, your baby may have further allergies discovered during weaning. We saw a paed dietitian who helped us wean slowly keeping a food diary to note symptoms. We also saw a paed allergist to test for the 14 main allergens when my baby started to get reactions during weaning. It turned out to be coincidence that eczema occurred at same time but a great relief to know. By the way, babies with milk allergy are advised to not have anything with soya in either until they overcome the milk allergy as they are very closely linked.
