First time taking 15 week old swimming

So next week I'm taking my LO swimming for the first time. I've read alot if parents like to double up on nappies so a disposable swim nappy followed by a reusable swim nappy for double the protection. Obviously I know to take towels ect but I was wondering if any parents had any tips or what I should expect? My LO loves her baths.

Don’t bother! DD and hate for when she was tiny.

Get out the pool, take off LOs swimming costume and wrap them in a towel. Take off your costumes and put on a lightweight dressing gown. Feed the baby as they will be starving. Then dress the baby by which time you will be dry and can shove in some clothes.

We've taken our two DC swimming since they were about 2 months old - do regular weekly classes.
You will definitely need a disposable swim nappy & a reusable or neoprene swim nappy over the top.
20-30mins will probably be the max time they'll stay happy in the water. They may find it too stimulating if you go at a busy time so be led by them in terms of how long you stay in the water.
They will be hungry once you're out - it's up to you whether you change first or not. We have a brief rinse/shower, change & then feed.
Baby will often fall asleep whilst feeding as it is very tiring for them so aim to let them nap after.
Take it slow & if you can afford it/want to, attend an organised class who can advise you the best ways to hold the baby in the water to encourage them. Most classes at this age are focused on getting them used to being in the water, then move to safety in the water, ie. what to do if they fall in, before moving in to learning actual swimming technique.
My DD is 4&half, has been going swimming since she was 2mths & is now at the point where (if she concentrates!) can swim unaided width-ways across the pool. DS is 8mths & loves the water & swimming so hopefully he'll be the same.
Good luck.

20 mins max. But the changing and faffing takes a long time. I'm voting for waste of time. If they love the Bath stick with that (my dds are excellent swimmers)

Total faff for 20 mins, stick to the bath!

Hey OP. My 9 month dd has been going with me to organised classes since 15 weeks and we have both loved every minute of it! You'll get the hang of it all after the first few weeks. Best of luck and enjoy ☺️
