Just looking for a bit of reassurance that adapting to two is out there really, as I'm edging into those last few moths of pregnancy to worry's are starting to creep in of "how will I cope" my little boy is 2 he will be 2years 3 months once baby arrives and I wouldn't say he's completely demanding he's just a mummy's big with an endless bag of energy, I just don't want him feeling left out but at the same time I need the time to be able to help with no 2, I just want to know how you found adapting to two ?

I can honestly say going from 1 to 2 was the hardest thing I ever did. It knocked me for 6 but I think it was because I was unprepared. I’m currently pg with dc3 so it’s doable. But I wish I was more prepared.
Organisation is key. Bags packed night before, keep a box with nappies ect in the same place, online shop, fill freezer with food easy to cook. Things like that.
I felt really guilty on dc1 and really struggled with that. I missed him and everybody was great at having him for the day, but i wish they didn’t as I was so upset he would think he was replaced. Stupid I know because he didn’t care a jot. We got him a kindle fire, so he could sit in bed and we played games together when I was feeding dc2.

I also put dc2 on a bottle at 5 weeks because it gave me more time with dc1 as dh could feed the baby. It’s not for everyone I know but it really helped me.
The sleep deprivation is hard, because dc1 was an early riser and dc2 up half the night. Initially dc2 woke dc1 but he soon learnt to sleep through it.
We got through it by keeping things simple. No major day trips or stressful situations for as long as you can, you will find your feet and see what works. It’s hard and a shock but doable and I wish someone had told me how hard it was initially and I would of been more prepared. Congratulations.

Organisation and simplicity is the key

Oh, and getting the baby to nap in the pram was an absolute winner. We weren’t tied to the house and would go to the park ect whilst the baby napped
