Does anyone else feel like this sometimes?

Like a bit of a failure because your older baby/toddler dc doesn't sleep through? And that you should've done something differently? Maybe I'm just being hard on myself but it would help so much at this point to not be getting up every night.

It’s developmental normal for your child to need you durring the night up to the age of 7 so your definitely not a failure.

What old is your little one?

Mine started sleeping through at age 2. I mentioned it to the health visitor and she wasn't surprised, I think its a myth the idea of 1 year olds sleeping through.

Every few months, I hen we finally thought we cracked it, DD stopped sleeping again. I'd often cry "I broke the baaaabyyyy" . We had early wakeups, late nights and at her worst both at the same time.
I didn't break the baby, she was just a little arsehole that didn't need that much sleep(or food apparently 🙄).

She's 7 now and sleeps great and has been for a few years.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Dd is 13 months, so still little, but everyone I know seems to have sleeping babies. Think I'm just exhausted today and having one of those days!

A lot of people don’t tell the whole truth about babies’ sleep. I did hear of someone who said her baby slept through but it turned out she didn’t think you counted when they woke for a feed!

My DS turned 5 a few months ago and has only just started sleeping through the night, my older DS took even longer. You are definitely not failing, some kids are just like that.
