7 week old constantly hungry!

So up until a few days ago my baby girl was super content: she'd feed, be awake and happy for a little while and then sleep. She had just started sleeping for 5/6 hrs a night. She's exclusively breastfed and putting on weight so everything going well! But the past few days have been a completely different story. She's waking up every couple of hours to feed, and afterwards still chewing her hands, really unsettled and seems to always be hungry. I don't feel like my milk supply has caught up because my boobs always feel empty! Does this sound normal?? I'm really battling with the idea that we might have to top up with formula but I have no idea what the right thing to do is!

Growth spurt maybe. She will be trying to increase your supply by feeding more often.

That is quite normal. It will be a growth spurt.

Prime growth spurt territory. DS1 fed for 24 hours solid at 6 weeks, I was pinned to the sofa...

This is cluster feeding and entirely normal at this stage. Check out the kellymom website to find out more. It's also normal for your breasts to feel emptier at this point too, but they are providing milk. If baby has the right number of wet and dirty nappies and growing well, everything is likely to be fine!

Also there is an 8 week growth spurt which your lassie is likely to be going through.
