Next2me for after c-section?

Hi,

I had a c section with my first and had my mum help a lot so she or dh often passed me the baby for night feeds.

This time she won't be around and I have a young toddler which dh will no doubt be busy with. I'm not planning to breastfeed and I've bought the TT prep machine to have next to the bed. Will the Chico next2me (or something similar) be beneficial in the early days after c section? I had a Moses basket last time but I just can't decide if it's worth forking out the money for a next2me? It's just the first few weeks after section which are really hard

I ended up buying one a few days after my section. One because my baby despised the Moses basket..and two because it was becoming to painful bending down to pick her up and put her down etc. Was ok in the day as hubby did most of the nappy changes but once he went to work I found I was too sore by evening to keep doing it at night to! I could just schooch baby over, feed and put back! No bending necessary!

Would 100% say yea in my opinion :)

Bear in mind that with the newest model of the next to me (Dream I think it’s called) the side doesn’t come completely off the way it does with the original one.

There’s a catch so you can fold it down and you can still strap it to you bed, but you don’t get the seamless join between your bed and the crib as the side doesn’t come complete down - you still have to lift the baby over iyswim

I had a c section 6 days ago with second baby, am also formula feeding. I bought a second hand n2me thinking it would make things easier for night feeds but in fact I've just been using it as a normal crib without attaching to the bed. I'd have great difficulty getting sat upright in bed or getting out of bed with the n2me attached. I'm using my bedside table to push up on too and it's been easier to get out of bed for nappy changing anyway rather than twisting in bed. The only good thing is that the n2me can be adjusted by height so I haven't had to bend too much to pick baby up. Might be hard to have prep machine in reach and n2me attached to bed while still having enough room to get out of bed to the loo in the night?

Had a c section last month. My co sleeper wasn't used at all initially as I couldn't get in and out of bed (though it's great now). I slept on the sofa for about 3 weeks and used a baby box on another sofa during that time.

Highly recommend a halo bassinest...

Found it really useful post section, especially because it could sit higher than our bed and swivel round/be pulled over the edge towards me when I wanted to lift baby
