Is it odd that dd1 has not yet been to the cinema? She is 4 and most of her friends go all the time

It is just something that didn't occur to me to do tbh

Neither of them sit still long enough for a DVD (have watched the first 20 mins of Aladin about 99 times and then run off ) so will it be a waste of time?

dd1 is 4 and dd2 is nearly 3

And what is on?

Will it be too loud (maybe for dd1, hmmmm?)

Do you leave if they become fidgety?

Youngest dd (now5) has only been going in the last year. She can be a fidget pants at the best of times and has never shown as much interest in films as my other two.

The first time we took her, she spent most of the film staring backwards at the projector. Rather odd for the people behind us too (we did keep telling her to face the other way, but she was mesmerised by it) They must've wondered why on earth we took her.

I'm a mean mummy and if the dcs start wandering about or doing anything else while watching a film or tv, I turn it off. You either sit and watch a film or a programme or you do something else - not both.

olive I wouldn't bother. We first took DS to see the Magic Roundabout when he was just 4. He enjoyed it but was a bit scared at one point. And he has been 2-3 times a year since with either DH or me, or once the childminder took him.

But DD is 3 and I really can't see her going anytime soon. She is really not into TV although will occasionally watch a bit of Thomas or Bob with DS and did quite like Mary Poppins. She gets scared at very unscary things like Madagascar and Cars. She will not sit and watch something with DH and DS on a Sunday afternoon, she would prefer to be stood on a chair in the kitchen getting in my way.

Our local Cineworld as cheap children's films on a Saturday morning that only costs £1 each. DH took DS to see Charlotte's Web a few weeks ago. So if you want to risk it I would look for something like that.
