Cloth nappies for large toddler

Hi I've got out my old cloth nappies and have been using them part time for my large 18 month old (tall, in 2-3 clothes). I have birth to potty little lamb pockets which are really convenient and dry quite quickly but seem to leak easily after an hour or two. I also have sized little lamb two parters but they seem very snug around the legs and I feel that the velcro might be digging into his tummy. Also they are mostly bamboo which take forever to dry (though as using part time this isn't a deal breaker). I would like to continue to use cloth part time until potty training but don't want to spend a fortune as won't be having any more children and won't be using them full time. Happy to buy preloved but not sure what to try. Any suggestions welcome, thank you.

Stuff pockets with prefolds (I use junior joy) most absorbant things in the world I swear.

Also hemp holds a lot but is pricey.

Hmm never thought of stuffing the pockets with anything other than the pads they came with! I will look into prefolds thank you. I do also have some terrys, forgot to mention those, so I wonder whether they would fit inside the pocket? Will have to try. Nappy change can be a bit of a battle so something that goes on in one part is definitely easier.

Little blooms and Alva are cheap Chinese import brands that actually work better for us than the expensive ones! They're about £3 per pocket nappy but you buy the inserts separately. Always possible to buy second hand off Facebook too if you want a cheaper deal cos they won't be used for long

Thank you, that's a useful tip, I'll look into those.
